Been a while since I updated this, so to bring this thread up to speed.

I had all the suspension (koni/eibach) and skunk 2 camber arms fitted and aligned - what a difference!

I then moved house, and the car got broken into, they attempted to steal it and managed to get to the barrel, a fuse saved the car being driven away!

I then had an alarm/immob with remote start fitted, and central locking.

They also bent my steering column, so I fitted a second hand one.

Then the car needed an MOT, and all I needed to do was change a rack gaiter.

I purchased an ITR 1" MC and larger servo from Saint Matt (couple of weeks ago)

Image

I warped my 282's so fitted some new EBC 282mm discs a couple of weeks ago.

Image

I bought some Innovative mounts (steel with track 75a poly, £180), fitted the gearbox and engine mounts today, but leaving the rear for my mechanic as I've hear it is a joke to do.

Image

Image

No juddering/hopping pulling away now, and no slack gear changes! A fair bit of cabin vibration at idle but think that will settle down.

I bought a snap-off steering wheel kit from Stoo, but can't get my Momo champion horn to sit in the steering wheel without it being permanently pinned down :(

Image

First pic of the car on it's lowered suspension (although it has been like this for well over a year now!)

Image

The car has an age old problem of pulling to the right under braking, I've replaced literally everything except for the two rear calipers. I'm hoping the nearside rear caliper is siezed, causing mroe fluid to be pushed through the offside right caliper and hence the reason that rotor was a) distorted/warped soon after fitting, and b) it locks up first and pulls the car that way.

I've ordered 262mm discs and mintex pads, and some MGZS180 rear calipers/carriers (currently stuck in Doncaster due to the recent snow issues).

Stainless D16 manifold next, as my OEM is leaking!

Cheers,

Con

OK quick update.

The rear big brake conversion is complete, and the car stops on a penny now! Really really pleased with the braking setup.

Image

Image

I bought a DC-Sports 4-2-1 Manifold in mint condition, had only been on someone elses car for a few mins!

My OEM header was seized together and had to be cut to get it out!

Image

Image

Ground clearance seems really good with this manifold, been over a few speed bumps and no scraping!

The car picks up a lot quicker now, and revs much faster. Noticeable gains in mid to high end of the rev range.

I also got my mechanic to replace my rear mount with the innvovative one, didn't fancy doing that job with the limited tools I own... That bolt on the left hand side of the subframe is a real bitch to get to.

Plan now is for some track action.

Cheers,

Con

I've fitted a megan racing front upper strut brace.

Image

I've also refitted the standard airbox and have a pipercross panel filter on the way, will be creating a cold air feed for it ASAP.

I've bastardised the boot plastics and fitted a Spoon/Vision rear upper strut brace

Not had a chance to drive it with this on yet but heard it will make a big difference.

Cheers T, I am quite anal about not cutting any corners and researching things before I implement them!

It's just a shame the paintwork isn't the nicest and I still need a red door which seems impossible to get hold of?

Cold air ducting has arrived, got 1 metre of 70mm flexi aluminium. Should be pretty much the same bore as the airbox inlet.

Image

Also got a Pipercross panel filter for the stock airbox (thanks HondaforJamie)

Image

My filter oil should arrive tomorrow, so bumper off on Saturday to fit these little bits.

Cheers,

Fitted my ghetto cold air feed today.

If anyone else wants to do this, here is how I did it.

You'll need 50cm of 70mm aluminium flexible ducting, some extra long zip ties, and a 70mm holesaw.

First of all bumper off, then removed the resonator.

Then offered the alu ducting up to the intake on the airbox (70mm diameter ducting was used). I secured this at the top with a long zip tie.

Image

Image

Then I measured roughly where the hole lines up on the bumper, and cut a ~ 70mm hole out of it with a hole saw.

I then drilled two holes on the bottom lip of the bumper next to each other directly under the hole I cut in it, and fed a zip tie through the holes.

Then bumper back on again, zip tie round the ducting and it all lined up pretty much perfectly! I used a little bit of duck tape to secure it in place also, but it really is solid, not moving at all!

Image

The hole doesn't look round, but it is, just the curvature of the bumper making it look that way.

You can really feel the cold air getting sucked up the ducting by the engine so I'm happy this will be as good a feed I can get (I blocked off the other air intake on the airbox with some duct tape to rpevent warm air getting sucked in from the engine bay).

I've replaced the airfilter with a freshly oiled pipercross item.

Image

Might get round to trimming the hole at some point, but not that bothered tbh - function over form.

Good pics should help some people out :top:

You should spray the ducting black or something so to make it more subtle.

Yeah I'll have a think about trimming it at some point.

I was thinking I might be able to get some universal trim strip and trim all around the edge of the hole - any ideas?

It's a sad say for this project - I am picking up a CRX this weekend and will be using my ED7 as a donor car.

I'll be SORNing this car tomorrow, and it may be broken for parts, or put back to standard, not decided which yet.

Cheers,
