Rich's white GL

Post by rich_gl »

Been lurking for a while but got a little bit of progression on the GL so its about time I made a thread. Been after a civic for a while now, but wanted something I knew I would stick with for a long time. Looked at a couple of EF's but to no avail, the search stopped until my mate Luke (on here) got one and it got me in to gear to get one sorted.

Picked up this little beaut off here from Gav, its a 91' white GL, 1.4 twin-carb manual.

From the ad

She came with;
40mm spax suspension, was only fitted to the front, just needs rears fitted.
Megan manifold, not stamped could be ebay jobbie.
Radial Dellorto Trumpets
Powerflow backbox
MoMo Corse 300mm wheel
Import front plate
5 panel wink mirror
Rear VT bumper lip (I think)
Genuine Honda wind deflectors
16" wheels, unsure of brand, but for some reason they have 5x114.3 and ROTA stamped on the rear :?:

The day I got it

Rubbish pictures in the dark :|

Got some new bits for it, sorting the pictures out and ill put them up :)

Like luke said, Got the Ronal Design LS's off him, only two on at the moment as the rear suspension is causing me grief :not top:

Couple of pics from the start.

There a couple of rust patches that need to be fixed, the sills have been done, but they havent been painted properly, just needs some tld where the surface rust is showing from grinding down the welds.

I hope so man, plan to keep it for a fair while. The seat is really comfy, could do with another. But can't see me getting another for £100 quid lol.

Oh and a little update.

this came the other day :)

Cheers man, still having a little bit of problem getting it right. Basically it sat too close to the handbreak, I got a mate to make up some custom plates, its a little bit bodge but it's the best I could do on a budget lol.

Heres a pic of the testfit on the lip :)

I wouldn't been surprised if they are tbh! I expect a fair few parts make their way around the guys on here!

Haha! Need a little bit of work, some small marks that need going over, need a rub down and a re paint. Not sure if I want to do it in flat black or white though.

Currently, been putting on the rear 40mm spax suspension the previous owner didnt get around to putting on.

Was faced with this...
Image

All the bushes are f**ked, got new ones for the rear LCA's today, going to drop them off at the local garage and then get the other side done, hopefully without the same problem. :)

Go for flat black imo.. Will contrast nicely against the white car :top: btw is it a replica or genuine?

seat looks really nice will suite well as a pair mate

think you should rust sorted out before you do any mods that way you have a nice clean base to start with but that's just me that's what I'd personally do
