Paint stripping

Post by Optimus »

Anyone know the best way to strip paint off of plastic? I want to repaint my plug cover but i need to get all the old paint off it first, somehow I don't think Nitromors would be a good idea!

Don't bother stripping it, just sand it down with wet&dry to 1200 finish then paint it.

Make sure the surface is nice and smooth before you paint it.

Not worth tying to strip it off plastic. As said just sand down so it has a key and paint away.

Rubbing down is no good, there's something on the cover that causes fresh paint to blister, I rubbed it down loads when I last painted it and the blister still came through, so I ideally need to get it back to the original plastic. It's been painted about 4 times so far!

i've used Nitromorz on plug covers and it worked fine. just remember to wash it off with soapy water after though so it all comes off, otherwise just water will harden the smeered paint from the stripper.

if you have metholated spirits that works the same as prep wipes ;)
