EF9 track car ***update 27/07/10***

Post by Kryton »

Just noticed I dont have a post here yet so here goes...

The car is a 1990 JDM sir EF9 import. The car was was sold by a Tuning company in Japan called Best Position. They specialize in Honda's and Hanjo San, the owner explained to the buyer (pictured below) that the coilovers on the car were originally TRD items which are modified by an aftermarket company so they are pretty specific for track.

Engine wise its running a standard B16a engine with standard airbox and an aftermarket stainless exhaust.

Wheels are Sparco racing 15" with 195/50/15 toyo 888s for grip.

Origiobally the car was running standard brakes but now has a 285 conversion running standard discs and carbotech pads.

Here are some rare JDM pictures of the car before it left Japan with its first UK owner.

Recent progress includes installation of a gearbox containing an ATS LSD and an aftermarket 4-1 header.

Currently have a B18c6 (itr) bottom and and B18c6 inlet manifold and throttle body waiting to be fitted..

Next track session is on 11/09/08 so looking forward to that.. 8)

Nice track car. I am nearly sure your exhaust is a Spoon N1 exhaust. They are good but very very loud

Took advantage of the cold weather at the weekend to break out the sound deadening. (Very easy to do)

Also fitted some lighter mirrors as the folding in fellas were just slowing me down.. :P

Was planning on ripping out the engine over winter and installing some B18 powa but thats on hold as im moving house at the start of january. New house will have a garage attached with power too!! :D Will most likely rip out some more weight and just run the b16 on track next year and gather up some more goodies through 2009. 8)

I took out one piece of sound deadening today (the one at the very rear under the spare wheel) was really suprised by how much it weighed, almost 2kgs, do you know how much you saved by removing the lot?

Surely the sound dending is also helping by adding some extra stiffness to the chassis?

Please please get your car weighed, I really really want to know how little it weighs now and I am sure there are loads of others that will be interested too.
