great progress and work so far!

i'll have to pop by when i finally get to Ali's and Si's one weekend
Cheers Marc,

It has been a little neglected of late, but I am determined to bring this to JAE and the Mrs will drive the S-MX down for us to sleep in

I need to replace the coolant hoses as I have a couple of leaks, and need to work out some way of sucking the alien slime out of the brake reservoir. I will get some pictures at the weekend... it's just wrong

They may well be mate!

I might have to go down the route of trying to match the different hoses from all different cars.

Update

Post by Adam »

Small update for you all.

I have replaced the rear brake cylinders due to shot seals on one side. I have also replaced the shoes and bled the system through. There was a lot of emulsified fluid in the reservoir and in the lines. I flushed through approximately 2 litres of fluid to get rid of all the gunk and get nice new fluid running through all the lines.

The overheating issue that I though I had sorted before doing the clutch seems to have re-appeared. There was water leaking from around the water pump so I spent most of Saturday checking all the hoses/joins and ended up taking the water pump out. The seal is nackered, so I am going to replace water pump and timing belt while they are out.

The pump has been ordered in for tomorrow morning, so I just need to find a timing belt and will get everything back together.

Update

It was a good day for the civic yesterday. Lots of bits turned up from Ebay etc.

This is the Centre Section I won on ebay for 99p

New blue print water pump with much nicer blades than the old pump!

I put the new pump and timing belt on last night, and am just waiting on new bolts and a gasket from Honda (expected from Belgium on Thursday)

Image

I also forgot to mention the other day I removed both the bumpers to assess the damage to the rear one. I am going to fibreglass the crack in the corner of the bumper.
