do you have T1R's or T1S tyres? the T1S are shockingly soft compound

T1R's. You were right tho Marc, they seem to be very soft as well, ony had them a week (70 miles) and I can already see wear. I have been slinging it into corners though - no need for brakes!

defo one of the best tyres I've bought though, I had some tyres called 'Arrowspeed' on before so not much to compare to!

did a pre mot inspection today, its not for a month but wanted to check to make sure it didn't need anything so spent the day with the car.

Checked the sills, brake lines etc... Also renewed the decals on the back, cleaned out the sills, some wiring tuck and door alignment.

Steering rack will finally be fixed on Tuesday!

Am happy to say the sills are absolutely mint and are all in fantastic condition, I still can't believe I managed to pick up such a minter. :D

yeah, bodywork is good. The rear has had a re-spray on the bumper and rear panels but the rest is all oem. Just needs a good polish every now and then to keep it shiny.

will be getting a pi suspension kit next month, but something that expensive requires another payday!

Need confirmation that these will fit - will be going on an ee9 and a drop of 50mm i think would be spot on:

the spring rates will not be right for a VT, but if you want that look, go for it

although Dida has PI springs, might be worth checking out his thread

cheers Rich, but I think they're different as the vt engine is heavier.

Got on with some work over the weekend.

Stripped out the rear and installed some custom pods for my 6x9s.

Aiming to get the car ready for the nurburgring meet in July. Still on the to do list are:

re paint alloys in gun metal
coilover kit
head unit (for the journey!)
strut braces, rear and front

Anyway a few pics:

check out the original headunit:

Is this your daily driver? If so you may find having it stripped out can get annoying.

Good work, looks neat.

Thanks EE9 CVC,

yeah its my daily, hence why I needed to sort out the sounds in the back!

Have to say the increase in road noise etc... is minimal as I've covered the back with carpet and the speakers drown out any general noise at coasting speed. Cruising round town theres no difference but when the loud pedal is pressed it is much louder - but I love the sound!

Forgot to mention as well - cleaned and dropped in a K&N panel filter from Tahir. Now much throatier and better pickup - a big thanks to Tahir for this. :D My fuel consumption has dissappeared now though!

However, if it starts to pee me off I can chuck it all back in - got all the stuff stored safely in my mates garage.
