I still have a crazy idea for a Supercharged K20 in an EF flying around in my head.

In a year or two's time who knows, if I decide not to get the planned next car then it could happen.

there is a B16B bottom end on ebay for £650 :D

what would the advantages or disavantages of it be over just swopping in a complete B16B? is it just that simple as swopping the bottom end ?

hmmmm prehaps i should just get a B16B, then i wouldnt really need to do anything to it bar induction/exhaust

The awesomeness of the B16B is in the head, not the bottom end.

Bump in compression and a lightened + balanced crank, but thats about it really.

Money well spent would be B16B head (or B18C, they are near identical bar cams) onto your current bottom end, with aftermarket pistons.

Tbh, B16's just dont cut it for me - gotta be a B18. They just dont make enough torque.

A decent B16 can make good power.

But, I agree, you can defo feel the pulling power more in a B18. My car in 4th now feels like how my B16 did in 3rd.

The B18c feels just right for my car to use everyday and give a good thrashing to when needed.

The s80.... well.... im not going to go there.

I think you could do the K20 swap for around 3.5-4k all in.
Obviously that would not be "the ultimate" K20 swap but you could get one in there and running for that. It would still be crazy, plus you could always add to it in the future.

I dont know if it would be worth it though compared to a B16B or a B18?

Im just thinking of the potential...........plus its different!

pffft all this 2l and 1.8l talk :P . ive been in a k20 crx and it was beautiful tbh insane the boy started the 1/4 in second gear and took off like a scud missile! also been in a b18 ef9 which was also really good. imo i would rather go the b16b route or stay 1.6 as long as possible so that when someone asks me whats in that civic i reply ach just a wee 1.6 (hehe) then booooaaaaaaaa  .

but thats just me you guys all have your different tastes! :D

If you used cheap or second hand parts and did all the work yourself then you probably could. But whats the point of doing a half assed job?

Everything I do I do properly and to the best possible standards, so if I was to do a K20 swap it would have to be done perfectly.
