Waterpumps are cheap and easy to replace on 4G's, shouldnt be too much hassle

Nice base to start with man, love that colour!! As for the back lights i dont think jap lights fit uk shells cause of the extra bulb in them, have to cut the shell to make them fit, but i do think they came on later models as standard she a 90/91?? good luck with the conversion :top:

Been a while since i've updated this, been busy with other things.

Bought an Ec8 on 81k also in superior blue and is now my daily, runs faultlessly and has been owned by an old irishman for many years, nothing has been modified on it. Has paint protection and waxoyl stickers in the back window, a sign its been well looked after.

As i can take the ec9 off the road now i purchased complete d15b, d16z6 block, d16 inlet, esi loom, 1616 gearbox, fuel lines and ECU from BillB. Will also be mapping the car for me when its done. Picked up a 1616 / Vt tank from Cue. All i need is driveshafts, i've bought some but the lad crom crx uk is pissing about posting them.

Plan is to put the d15 head on the 16 block. Undecided on what box to use yet, as my box is fine and would make for good acceleration, but they 16v box would probly better match the engine?

Bills said around the 150bhp mark when done, so should be good fun. That was before i mentioned advancing the cam a little. That part is quite far off and is still up in air and speak to Bill closer to the time.

Been collecting bits slowly, hoping to have it running by the end of march.

No photos of any of the conversion parts ye but ome goodies i've been collecting slowly during the conversion.

Motordrive pro2, kevlar composite. Picked up for a bargain price.

FK GRP. Unknown model, can only find a budget replica of it now. Weighs less than 6kg with the sidemounts on.

budget yellow fogs. Or driving lights depending on when ive got them on lol.

Adjustable cam gear.

Looking good Matt!
Good to see your staying with the roots and not opting for b-series.

More single cams needed!

Cue i think i will mate, blokes pissed about for too long for i've asked for a refund. I'll Pm you mate.

Cheers Joe, i did go for a bseries lol. Put a deposit down on one then lost my job. James being a hero was kind enough to refund my deposit. Got a new job tho so all is well. Got a text about the d15 and d16 and everything needed for the conversion and went for it.

Lots of progress today, d15 head has been taken off and is on the 16 block, new gaskets, timing belt / tensioner, water pump, head studs etc. d14 is ready to come out tomorrow, its disconnected from everything except the mounts. Got loom to tackle tomorrow as well, and depending on time fuel lines. Got pics but i'll add tomorrow night as its getting on abit now.

Thanks Lee, i am to :D.

Walshy i will do yeah as i'd very much like to know the gains of the 1.6 block and a good map. Going to move the battery towards the front cross member in order to fit a decent induction pipe, i've got a BMC DIA i bought for my fiesta and never used. Mates got a carbon intake pipe for me, its not a whales nob, ive forgotten the name, its a carbon pipe between 2 alloy fittings. ebay 421, 1616 center section. Be interesting to see what it will run. I'm looking to get a 2" stainless pipe bent into shape as a bc spec 2 rep, but that wont be for a while yet. It will also be getting stripped interior wise down to dash and seats, although im tempted to keep the front door cars as they dont weigh much and it will be a daily once the DX goes.
