I bought this on my birthday, in September this year, for £350… a genuine one owner from new, well looked after 1990 Civic EF 4 Door Sedan. 84000 miles, full service history, electric everything. Only problem was a dent in the drivers side front wing, which has been pushed out now, not brilliantly, but looks a lot nicer. It’s a 1.4 with twin carbs, no power house, but the car is very light so I have surprised a fair few boy racers (and myself!) at the lights!
Here’s the pics from when I picked it up…

So, on the first weekend me and a few mates got to work with the angle grinder and set about deleting some coils from the stock suspension, also borrowed some Renault Clio 16V Speedline wheels to put on, this got the car sat like this

Next plan was a good one, or so we thought! A mate bought a set of 13x8 Alleycats for his Mk1 Golf and they didn’t fit on the front…. So he decided he’d sell them on again.
I wondered what they’d look like on the Civic as 13’s are hardly ever done (for good reason we found out!). We fitted up one side and they looked awesome, properly awesome! So, I said I’d buy them and fit them the following weekend. We rolled the arches, which resulted in most of the rear arches crumbling away onto the floor – bollocks - but never mind, some sick wheels were going on! We fitted up all 4, then looked under the car…. No ground clearance at the worst point, the back box sat on actually on the deck, and 10mm clearance at the highest point under the car! We took it up the road and back for a laugh, but it scraped constantly, even peeled all the underseal off on the edge of the driveway. So that plan was ended, wheels came off, arches were rolled and ruined for no reason and I still had weak wheels! But still, it hadn’t cost anything and we had a fun day!

that’s the backbox on the floor!
Then another set of temporary wheels were fitted, BMW E30 BBS
![Image](http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb190/RichRST/BBS1.jpg)
also got a JDM sized plate

Next I ordered Civic EG coilovers from eBay, real cheap ones. They require a bit of modding to fit, but with 16 coils lopped off (4 each side on the back, 4 each side on the front) the car sat kinda OK… it is now totally awful on the road, bouncy and bad riding… but oh well… it was cheap and is better than cut springs I spose!
Fitted the rears and it sat slightly high on the back before they were cut!

Thought it was about time I got some rims of my own for it! So off down to Rare Rims in Crediton for a set of their new Rota Grid V’s, in 15x7 ET20 flavour, with 195/45 Nangkang wrappers…. Nice
17mm hubcecntric spacers are fitted on the rear giving a ET 3 offset, with 5mm shims on the front making a ET 15 offset.

please excuse reverse rake, only had front (un cut) coilies on at this point, and lack of rear spacers

Spacers fitted in this pic, complete with duck tape arch repair!
Here’s a pic with his little brother, my mate Lil’s EF Hatchback, Eddie,

Got some wind deflectors from eBay, look nice I think…
![Image](http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb190/RichRST/Winddeflectors.jpg)
Also fitted my oil cooler saved from my old Skyline, it’s only mocked up as I think it would cool the oil too much on this little motor!
![Image](http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb190/RichRST/OilCooler.jpg)
Inside is pretty much standard… added a genuine Nardi steering wheel, which was disgustingly cheap from a breaking JDM HiLux at Blackborough House scrappy in Devon (the best place, ever!), it’s a bit worn, but suits the overall look of the car and looks as if it’s been in there forever! Also in the pic is the JDM gear knob I pikeyed from the Skyline before it went.
Normal stereo upgrades also in, a set on real nice Kenwood 3 way speakers all round, free coutesy of a mate, and the head unit and sub/ amp from my previous car.
![Image](http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb190/RichRST/Interior.jpg)
Also from the same HiLux as the steering wheel were these amazing Recaros, with fishnet headrests, one of my top bargain ever…. £25!!! Getting them cleaned up properly by a mate then gonna make some subframes to get them fitted, pics when its done!
A couple of stickers to sum up the car….

That’s it so far, still trying to perfect how it sits, still got a little bit of reverse rake, so some more coils off the front, then I’ll be happy…. More updates soon hopefully – as money and time allows!
Cheers for looking
