Post by ball2uall »

Copied from a friend on another fourm

Right I hear theres a protest on the m6 about the continuous sharp increase in price for fuel.

Theres a blockade convoy of cars down the m6 on saturday afternoon.
I know of a few modified cars attending.

Due to the nature of this More info will posted closer to the date.

If you know of anywhere else to post this info the better.

If anyones interested please get into contact with me or start a list.

the reason fuel prices are staying up is to cover the new road taxes

in 2010 petrol prices will be decreased to what they use to be, around 90p a litre, because when that happens, all the new road tax prices will be in effect, therefore the government will be making more money on tax, so petrol costs can come down.

just shows how sh1t our government is

Yep, people can send chain emails around and organise protests but it won't change anything!

Read in the paper yesterday that financial analysts have said that the government could happily cut 9p a litre off the tax they rake in from petrol and it would barely make a dent in their finaces. Its due to the fact that they benefit directly from the rising costs of oil anyway...

This is on top of the cash they also make from speed cameras and parking fines, unsurprisingly the general theme of the article was motorists being used as cash cows with no improvements to road safety or quality.
