just picked up this ec9 last week and thought i got a bargain.
turned out not be much of a bargain but still not bad for what i paid.
passenger side arch is staring to show rust but is still original.
drivers side looks to be bodged up with catty.
sill have been previously plated up but will need tidying.
the car is completely straight with no major rust anywhere.
plan is to get the all the welding done then get a b16 setup running in there then get it painted so i can get the engine bay done at the same time.
currently i have most of the car stripped out but cant make much more progress until i get some arches and find another mig welder.
also the guy i bought it off told me of another 2 4g civics both possibly being vtec models sat in some barns which im going to try and view.

Re: ec9 restoration
Sounds good, arches can be had for not much at all from ebay.
I'm also from the north east and got some from selecta panel for a friend, they do the sills too.
Let me know if you need anything, I've had a few 4g's and have bits all over the place.
Keep me posted on the other 2 if you go to look at them, im always looking for more stuff.

Re: ec9 restoration
i dont live up north anymore, i made this account some years ago but never really used it as i was more on crxuk.
ive orderd the arches, still on the lookout for a decent mig, bought some d-b conversion mounts with cable to hydro conversion though im thinking of converting to a full hydro clutch setup.
ive got plenty of rust to fix, smooth the engine bay abit, convert to pgmfi for the meantime.
there is a crx local to me im thinking of getting to use for the pgmfi, interior loom, dash loom (will need extending in places) just unsure as its a polish import and left hand drive.
these are the photos from the advert.

Re: ec9 restoration
most of it stipped down, engine is out and sold, got a few other unnecessary bits to sell.
i need to get some primer (electrox from bilt hamber) which is really good stuff
and some anti corrosion wax (dynax s50 from bilt hamber)
i all ready have deox-c and deox gel (again from bilt hamber) which eats rust away and works a treat.
just on the look out for a mig welder now.
pics of how its looking atm.

Re: ec9 restoration
well i managed to get hold of a crx vt as a donor car.
i got it at a decent price but the seller wanted the shell and wheel back once i finished stripping it.
ive managed to get the full interior loom out today and stripped most of the car.
as i fit the vt loom in im going to remove all the alb wiring and will need to swap a few of the plugs over from the civic loom as they have been damaged and the rear lights setup will need to be modified to suit the civic lights.
here's some pics of the car when i got it delivered to me.
