Hatchback vs shuttle suspension

Does anyone have a set of hatch and shuttle suspension for some comparison?

I'd like to confirm the fact that shuttle has shorter shocks, but longer springs.
A friend told me that if you used shuttle shocks with hatch springs and extended top hats you would actually lower a hatch for about 2".
Seriously interested in this as i'm looking at ways to lower my car temporarily before i can afford some decent coilovers :top:

A side by side of fronts would be epic if someone could supply that :)
The rears i've found online. Blue shock is a hatchback one, black one is a shuttle shock.

Can't help you cos I don't have hatch or sedan springs (which I think are the same and a quick parts check would tell you).

But stock shuttle shocks on a sedan are hilarious.
Chopped two inch worth of spring out and it's reasonable arch gaps with 14" tyres.

Conversely, I had Meisters on a shuttle. They are wound out beyond the hole in the cup at the front so you can actually see through it.
Which would go against your argument as that would make shuttle shocks longer, at the front.
For teh rear it's much teh same story. But the fronts have a big problem for a decent (not slammed) ride height.

Fronts are the same hatch vs sedan, rears are different part numbers and picture shows difference aswell (which i believe is because the added weight in rear).

A friend claims that if you put hatchback springs on shuttle shocks it will be about 5cm too short for the shock. It supposedly even lowers the car by that much.
Picture proof:

Have you maybe got CRX springs at hand?

The top image would certainly suggest that the car would be lower with your combo.

I see.. No dice then. Well next thing is, i'm worried that this combo might be a bit much. 2" drop from shuttle shock combined with my lowering springs Vogtland -35mm could be terribly low :?

How low would 85mm drop be? Straight line driving, but no turning?

That's what i was thinking aswell  I can't find any definite pics with 195/50 R15 tyres and 2" or 3" drop.
I'd be glad if people posted pictures of their car with the ammount the car was lowered :top:

You fool, we certainly have some spare Shuttle shocks laying around. You should check in the basement if I have some there.
Also my blue sedan had about a 7cm drop in the front, and was on 195/50 ;)

Shocks are essentially same lenght, but it has longer springs. ;)
