Gunmetal Grey i-vt (MR G)

Post by Ben_theEFking »

Some of you already know that I have bought Ernie's (previously Dida's) EE9. Truthfully I wanted it over 3 years ago as I love grey EE9's and when Dida put it up for sale last year, I didn't have the spare cash so missed out. As soon as I saw Pete (Ernie) had it up for sale I snapped it up.

It's looking a bit sorry for itself at the moment. Matt black front and rear bumpers, tailgate and rear garnish, dirty old GL front seats, manual mirrors, vt front lip not fitted, half an interior, standard suspension and standard vt wheels.

I have already cleaned the engine bay which came up well. Next plans are to fit my Coilovers on Friday and also fit the wheels I just bought. Yep another set of Sparco NS2's. I can't help it, I do love them.

Once the suspension and wheels are on I want to fit a set of original vt front seats, clean up the interior and replace some plastics, have the bumpers, bonnet, roof and tailgate painted and generally keep it clean.

Busy couple of days on MR G! I fitted the coilovers on Friday in 32 degree heat. Instantly regretted starting it once I removed the first front shock but I started so I decided to finish. I picked up the NS2's this morning and got them on straight away. I think they really suit the car!

I also managed to fit a new vt rear garnish as the original had been painted black. I fitted a new steering wheel boss and wooden momo wheel I bought from Dida (which was in this car when he owned it 8) ) and I put the vt front bumper lip back on. After a thorough wash and polish these were the results.

I also picked up a set of crx vt leather door cards today but they need a damn good clean before I fit them. Pleased with the progress so far.

It is a little bit. They are the coilovers that Pete had on there so I didn't bother adjusting them as I assumed they were still set to the height they were when he had them fitted to the car. Ill adjust the rears up a tad.
