Anyone ever had to get a vehicle identity check before? Do they just check the vin plate and see if it matches the one on the chassis? They dont actually check the car over do they?

They just check numbers.

I've taken cars still damaged in the past. As long as it goes through mot it's fine.

Perfect cheers. What about if its lowered do they say anything or should I wind the coilovers up? And how long does it take roughly?

Dont take more then 10 mins as i had got a vauxhall zafira checked a few days ago

WHat if nothing on the car matches up ?

IE my Dx need a VIC but engine swapped, its converted from auto to manual etc

Still ok ? AS im guessing this may cause some head scratching

AFAIK they only check the Chassis No.

Hmmmm ah well B'reet. Im never gonna sell the thing either way so project thread should get interesting again soon
