Will this work? or has someone done it (with pictures)

From the picture below you will see a EG fuel tank on the left and a EF 1.4 fuel tank on the right.
On the EF fuel tank you can notice where the fuel pump should go (top right with two circles)

I might test this out and clean the EF tank out, cut the hole for the pump and cut the Bolt pattern fixture ring off the eg tank and weld it to the EF tank and install the EG fuel pump?

My concerns are:
Will the EF tank have the baffles in place?
Witch way round does the pump go?
Are the VT / CRX fuel pumps longer or the same as EG's?

Anyone got any pictures of the VT / CRX pumps?

A new fuel tank is £75 (you need to add the pump & bits).
A second hand EF tank I'd expect to be 50 max with all bits included.

How much is your time worth ?

Lol...I just don't see the point in spending out more money if I could make something up with my spare parts hanging around my garage. 8)

Have you offered it up to the chassis and put the straps back on it yet?
Also got to move the hose inlets and weld up old holes, or run extra pipe.

Sorry, I love DIY jobs, but this just seems like a lot of work to make a part that is worse than the real one you can get for little money.

I think you have miss understood what in trying to do

I'm looking to modify the ef tank by fitting the EG fuel pump to it and run the EG fuel lines.

Yeah you are right. I got that bit wrong.
Still think you're mad tho
The pump may well fit, but may not reach the bottom of the tank, so you might have smaller capacity (like people do when fitting walbros incorrectly).
Also the area is there for fitting but do they bother fitting the baffles on a carb tank in that location ?

That's what I'm concerned about,

I'm still on the look out for a VT tank, but I'm still going to cut it open just to self please myself

No the eg tank will not fit! Tried that and failed.

Just got me a CRX tank now but when I get time I'm going to open the ef tank to see if it has baffles- or is the same as the CRX tank.
