any idea on power output?

Post by scottk054 »

D16z6 on carbs with stage 1 cam, ported and polished head, 4-2-1 manifold and straight through.

Any idea what power that would make?

Depends solely on how well your carbs work with that set-up, you changed the jets at all? My stock z6 only made 113bhp at the flywheel, completely down to the lack of fuel when in vtec and the lack of me being arsed to source new jets or carbs.

I can imagine with that set-up your engine will be far outperforming the carbs, and maybe even doing a little damage. Bike carbs, webers or dellorto's should see about 140-150 I'd have thought.

Not changed jets no.. not really thought about different carbs.. would it run S*!t with that set up? Ive still to fit the cam whilst doing a head gasket.

It won't so much run S*!t, mine felt absolutely fine, just didn't make power.
Mine had full exhaust and carb trumpets.

D16a9 145.9bhp ;)
D16a9 Powered dream machine!

No greater fun then backing off the throttle at 7400rpm and spraying fire out the exhaust ;)
