Day I picked it up:

After a few hours of polish, glaze and wax:

The mats:

The wheels were in a bit of a state when I got them. Although there was no chipping or curbing, the paint was very dull and marred yellow. Set about cleaning them armed with wheel cleaner, SRP and wheel sealant paste.

After, front and back:

The cam cover had been sprayed a flat blue very poorly, paint was chipping off and made the bay look very untidy. I decided to refurb the rocker cover.

as was:

Stripped and ready for paint

After a trip to the oven:

Spoon blue, with pearl mixed in:

Finished:

I'm going to tidy the bay up as much as possible, swapping out the tired, out of place looking blue silicon hoses for black ones. and giving it a clean.

I also picked up a Bride Brix gradation seat in mint condition, and am now on the hunt for a 2nd, in a condition as close as possible to the first.

And a cheeky rolling shot 8) :drivegear:

Looks gorgeous.

Only personal thin I would touch are the wheels. I think anthracite would look better.

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen 8-)

Yeah it is Spence's old steed. met the lad who used to own it a few years back, Steve, who rebuilt the head and fitted the 98 final drive. Restored most of the mechanics in fact, apparently it had been abandoned and stood for some time. He's done a brilliant job, its a very healthy motor.

I like the wheels a lot, I can't picture anything else on it to be honest. I tried my ssr's on and they didn't suit as well, though they did look well. I woulnt want to paint them either, they're really good condition.

Yeah Giz it does, mood lightin man, gets all the Bitchez.

Nice DA man :top: they really do have stance more than any DC ever could!! but no more than EF's they really do need TLC at this stage to stop them rotting into the ground

This is my one, not as clean now as it was then unfortunately  but it should be faster when i get it back 8) Gotta try sell it in the next 2 weeks to

Looks nice mate, but I do prefer the pre face lift bumpers. What side skirts are they? Why faster? Do go into detail 8)

Oh it will only be a bit faster, due to ctr cams and a base map, looking forward to getting to try it out though 8) as for the skirts, apparently they're off a van, forget which one, fit pretty well though

I've been thinking about building a head similar to that, I did the same with my civic. I've also thought abought a b20 build, but then wondered if you could run an ITR crank in a b16, b16b pistons and a toda / skunk2 head. Something for me to look into I suppose.

would the combination of crank and pistons leave the stroke to close to valve contact in the shorter block??

Very possible, I don't know to be honest, like I said it's summit t look into. I don't really want to build a other b18, its a special car so I wanna put something a bit different in it, even if it is a b20
