Quaife Gearbox = Awesome

Managed to sly myself on a Blyton Trackday for an afternoon on Sunday. The weather was pretty poor but gave me chance to try my new box. Loving it!

I have had the pleasure of a LSD in my last ef9 I don't think I could go back to a 4th gen without one. It truly were awesome!

Ohhhh. Yeah the 4.4 in the DA would put the y1 in my old ef9 to shame an that's just stock gears so I can't imagine what yours would feel like.

Haha, I wasn't far off that, was well pleased when it went into 1st no probs.

Sell me that gearbox

I need an LSD for my 4th gen.

It probs will be for sale in the distant future. If/when I come to sell the car, I will be probs de-spec it as I wont get what I want for the whole car.

Are you using a S80 box?

I'm using a YS1 from an Integra DA, it can take all the hydro internals but is a cable operated box.

3rd gear does you 70-85?

Awesome ratios for track.

Something like that T, 1st does about 53, 2nd-70, 3rd-90, 4th-105, 5th-125, but obviously varies with the revs you use. Its the amount the revs drop when you change gear that feels good, 1st to 2nd only drops to around 6K, then after that, they all drop to 7K, keeps it well on the boil!

looks similar gearing at the top end to my S80 with the Y21 4th & 5th How well does it get off the line with such a long first gear?

Blyton is quite a fun track - more interesting than it looks at first glance, with a good variety of corners. Definitely need an LSD there - it was wet the day I went & there were lots of fwd cars understeering off..
