Czezcho ec8 lowflyer, the rise of phoenix

Post by Czezcho »

I get our Hello Kitty to all by myself, when i buy 5g Accord to my wife. At this point our (my)
Hello Kitty is 1.3 liter, with d14a1 dual carbs, and with 4-1 ss manifold... We have few broblems
with carbs basic setup, but now she runs fine... Basic miss was mine after all, when i rip the
carbs i assembly the needles wrong (a needle a to b and vice versa) so motor run too rich.
That missfire takes 5-6 mounths to discover, and i was allmost ready to give up...

Pics are last summer, she stands allmost like this now

These pictures are old and are changed a bit. Engine has now twinported ram-air (battery is relocated to trunk)
and engine inlet pipes go thrue where battery is in these pictures, hole ram-air is my own desing, works similar
as best cai, but is still ram-air, magic happens at plenium, there is part what works similar as variable intake, but
in my desing it holds 2 different pipe size as 1, and its runned with cable from throttle.
Swaybar assebly is finished with end links (more pics are comming if some one is interest)

Image

car is more slammed (about 1-2 inches), becouse of my old 3g camber plates (front and rear), of course
they dont work similar in 4g, but they still afford better line to shocks and more travel to them...
And i was able to take few parts off what there usually is so Hello Kitty is quite low rider in these days...
I take new pictures when i buy new camera, or some one of my friends loan me one :)

p.s I run my Hello Kitty with d13b1 on this winter, but i bought 1,5l basement and v-tec head to make
my own mini-me :), and i am very sad that our laws deny turbo charging (not directly deny, but i cant
affort insane fines from it)

Coming soon: side exhaust, massive stereo install, new paint (well paint maybe next summer, winter is hard in here)
and mini-me engine (quite a bit paper work, but should be possible)

I actually like red tints, my wife's prime idea was mix red and grey to make it different.
Wheels are going to be painted gold with red lip and we got old style mirrors (like this)
Image

Interior is allmost oem, only upholstory is done grey with red bits, and no racing seats,
trunk is going to be full becouse of massive stereo install (3 woofers, 5 amps)
so mirror style tints give me extra protection.
gear stick is re-welded to get it quick shift stick and wheel is upholstered too
with own made eagle at center (this is too from my 3g)

btw is d14a1 cam same as d13b1? And what is best cam if i dont wanna install
new electronic pump in the tank (yet...)

Personally i'm a bit dubious about the efficiency of the intake set up, looks more suited to Fuel injection...I can appreciate the work none the less.

Picture on the engine bay is old, first thing what i discover was that plenium was too little,
new version is bigger and quite different overall. New version has 3 inch pipe and smaller 1.75 inch
pipe inside of it, first only 1.75 inch pipe supplies air in low revs, in high revs pipe is able to move and when
throttle is above half my system opens pipe at it's full potential (to 3 inch overall)

Oem air box is removed totally and battery is relocated to trunk, new ram-air system holds
big cone racing filter with 2 inlets (1 at top normal at side). Filter is totally sealed to inside of ram-air pipe
what comes from bumber, hole pipe is made from glassfiber, and shape is result of many hours research.
(ram-air starts at 4 inchs lowers to 2.25 inch and makes a venturi after that venturi, pipe starts
to open more again towards to filter, after all pipe is 6,5 inch overall. Inside of that opening pipe is solid 2 inch pipe
what ends to filter top (the second filter as i say). This way i was able to create 2 different air speed/pressure
at inside of filter and increase the amount of air what is going to plenium (well this is my theory
in this moment, i need to research my system more, when i get my car to rolling on road legaly)
Here comes my name idea to twinported ram-air... first port is at after venturi second at plenium,
and all pipe sizes are calculated to support basic pulse ram-air theory

I know that ram-air isnt nothing when you compare it to turbos or chargers, and gains are small,
but i am study these things past 10 years at books, internet, racing guys, and try tons of systems
on my my other cars, and my friends call me ram-air nut, but these things fascinate me a lot :)
becouse small streams grows a big river afterall...

Tints  .. remove, and burn them.

Mirrors are interesting, but I think the 4g is too modern for them, they'd look good on pre 2g..

Intake seems more suited to injection too, as carbs work by vacuum I don't think they'd like the RAM air.

but, but... many pro's in here told that these oem carbs run normally way too rich, and it's hard to
make it just perfect, i tought so that if i try to increase more air to that rich mixture, result could be
very good? Well i could be wrong, but i wanna test my theory, if it doesent work i just bolt 2
filters after carbs :)

Today i install my stereo system to car and one thing come to my mind.
What if i build side exit exhaust to my eagle? Eny fashionate ideas?
Mainly i wanna do it becouse oem silencer is so tall and my car is hellaflush low,
silencer is now first thing what could hit to ground and second thing is that that
oem exhaust pipe is hitting to my rear swaybar.

i try to search 4g cars to find ideas, and i dont wanna do ghetto install,
one great picture was old Ford "eleanor" mustang, but give me few ideas?
