UK reg numbers????

What way do uk reg's work??? I see Tahir's car is H749 XWW and mine was H746 XWW and I've seen an ef9 with H747 XWW somewhere too. Just curious......

H - Is the year it was registered. In this case H = 1990/1991

749 - Totally random numbers.

X - Random letter

WW - Area the car was registered. In this case WW = Yorkshire

on import cars its slightly different, its just the year of registration that is kept, the last three letters are just what the DVLA have as unregistered digits for sale. I know of four black EG6's with M3** URX, a lot of the time its down to the importer, they buy a load of plates and thus have ones that run like you mentioned. so its more than likely your cars were imported by the same company here in the UK.

Yup, imports are a bit different, still have the area code from the dvla office it was registered at though IIRC.
