How To - How to make your foglights yellow for under £2!

Post by Gizmo »

Been in 2 minds with this one for a while, the VANS Spray paint is to expensive, the yellow window tint method is a tad tedious and another method which is this!

I picked up a 50ml tub on Stained Glass paint in Trasparent yellow (you can get Opaque and Transparent)

I then picked up a quality brush whilsts i was out aswell.

The gear.

Its simple stuff to use, its thicker than normal paint.

I would suggest putting on a bit thick all over, then let it self level to remove the brush lines.

Here some brush lines

and a before and after!

Job done!

Although! i made a mistake, i decided to do a Second coat to try and get it a more, dense yellow.

DONT!

Mine looked awesome after the first coat with maximum coverage, ive now made them look worse after applying a second coat. The paint fully dries within half hour, and it doesnt seem to like to stick to itself once dry.

Doesnt look to bad though!

Enjoy!

Bought mine off ebay, actually cost me £3.98.

But you could perhaps find some local to you at a craft shop or something, for much less (as i paid postage etc)

Update! so, i discovered that the paint peels off quite easy and peels off a bit like dried glue, so i managed to take the paint off one in about 30 seconds.

So i re-painted it, with awesome results! so i did the other aswell!

Alot better! and ive still got enough paint to do another 10 sets!
