4 door suspension, need help

Post by EFinLow2 »

Ok the time has come to get my suspension sorted, and find out what the hell i need to buy

this is the car now (cut springs, oem shocks)
Image

want it sitting just as low but obviously the front a tad higher...
ive got small dents in my front wings where the tyres have pushed the arch up! it really is my fault for not getting this fixed

any recommendation's on cheapish shock/spring setups?
cant do coilovers right now just havnt got the money

I've got some spax or jamex on the mrs car, not sure which, but a 55/60mm drop.
I fancy selling them and swapping for some coil overs if you may be interested....

dida, you're saying the jamex shocks AND springs are less than 200quid ?
Where from ??

At 213 plus VAT. hmm, TBH it's not worth selling what I have. Might just keep them as a spare !

Just spoken to them and it seems single replacement shocks are not available.
So if one goes you need to buy a whole kit again !!

I've emailed Jamex direct to see if one can be bought from them.
It seems madness that no spares are avilable.
Mine came with the car. I think they could do with being slightly firmer, but imho 60/55mm is too low anyway.

well to be honest at 200 odd quid if 1 broke i wouldnt be too fussed getting a whole set and having the 3 spare

grinch i see those before, look really dodgy haha but maybe its just the price putting me off, my shocks now i imagine are pretty f**ked so i would have to buy an oem set again

in the long run id probs better off with those jamex i think, anyone got 55/60mm drop on there hatch or sedan? wanna see pics :P

nice hatch but 50mm is not quite low enough for my liking

i can honestly say how it sits now isnt really that much of a problem on my roads, occasionally i break lips on the front... but thats all part of the fun!

who makes 70mm springs to fit the pi shock? i think that might be low enough :?

I wanted them to be lower aswell the jamex shocks and springs should be lower though also your sedan will weigh abit more than my old gl it was stripped out at the back aswell.

If you want lower than about 50-55mm youll have to get coilovers i think or get Jamex shocks and springs and then cut the springs ?

You should sign up on hondacrx.co.uk if you havent already as coilovers come up on there from time to time quite cheap, there were some d2;s on not so long ago.
