Newbie from Midlands

Post by crazycivic »

Hello all, i'm new just bought a black Honda Civic 1.4 GL auto.
I've always loved these cars since I was a young lad.
The car came standard but this weekend just put some alloys on that I had knocking about.
Their 18" so please tell me your thoughts on whether I should still run these rims or will they cause me damage on standard suspension set up.

Anyway here are some pics of my new baby please give me your thoughts and advice on what mods are available and good places to go for them and any discounts via this club.

15 inch is the biggest i would go with a half deacent low profile tire like 195/50's. 18's are way to big makes it look like a jeep + if u lower it on them wheels u will tear the wheel arches to bits

Hello and welcome!

...and yes....I would loose the 18" wheels and put some 195/50(or 55)/15 rims or 185/60/14.

Those wheels make it look like a budget Range Rover! ;-) seriously though, if you prefer a bigger wheel then i reckon 16s are the largest you can get away with, and then it needs lowering too of course. Looks like a decent motor though, welcome aboard.

if your after big rims , one of my old ef2's lowered it 40mm and fitted 16's with 205 / 45 R16 , no problems with it , the rear wheels rubbed a bit under a full load so i fitted bump stops to the shocks ... job done :D
