are Civic & Crx steering rack ratio's different?

Post by Chris.p »

I've noticed my crx mk2 seemed to turn alot quicker than my 4g civic, ie you had to turn the wheel less in the crx to cover the same distance/turning

does the crx have a differently geared rack, if so does the rack fit in the civic?
the longer I own the 4g the harder it is to let go!

someone may want to correct me on this but as far as i know the crx vt has a slightly shorter geared rack than the civic vt. Obviously the sir etc.... all come with power steering.

As far as i know you should be able to fit it though without too much hassle - some people do it because they prefer the shorter rack

I thought so, because the steering was alot sharper and more responsive. I presume the racks shorter from a 16v ed9 to and ed7.

Does anyone have both to count the number of turns?

The CRX has a shorter wheelbase aswell don't forget.....and the tracking/geometry/tire setup will totaly alter how a car 'feels' aswell.
