They are not as strong as a decent branded one...and can flex a bit.....having said that, I have them all round it made a hell of a difference.....for the money, they are great. I paid £80 for front & rear, top and bottom plus C-pillar bar.

Not as good as the proper branded ones but better than no strut braces.

a friend said he'd make some solid ones without any flex at all, but said Id have to weld in some bars behind front wings to stop paint cracking?

lol, really?
fender bars are good. they can be bought from the US (search ebay)

but you shouldnt need to, to stop paint cracking
i have 4 strut braces, only one is adjustable, and no cracks 8)

people have roll cages, they are stiffer than any strut brace, and no cracks...

you can get the "ebay special" strut braces from the USA. 5pc set £90 delivered, now thats worth it!

but they are low grade alluminium, so arent as strong/rigid as better brands like Cusco, DC/Spoon/Vision (all the same), Tein, Gabs....

As above....I decided for the moment that they would be fine.... and they cost less than a single 'branded' strut brace. Also, IMO a 5pc combo is going to be better than 1 really good brace.

I have never, ever heard of cracking paint due to improving the rigidity of the chassis :? if anything...it would be flex that cause cracks...or excessive vibration. As Marc says, there are fender/wing braces designed to stiffen up the box section of the bay....and they simply bolt in.

this is something someone should get on in the UK. fairly straight forward design.

I'm looking into buying some braces from ebay too but I'm unsure if the front upper would fit my crx vt, i see lots of posts about the alb getting in the way or something to that extent.

Any anyone advise?

Cheers.
