Speedboat injured!! fecking roadworks!!!

Post by Marc_EE9 »

came home earlier and ran over a rock down my road from where the guys are doing road works - back left wheel. It made a mighty bang!
Now that corner is a lot lower than all the other corners..?
I cant see up there because its too low.

Help! Im starting to get worried. The car doesnt feel right

hate to say it but it could be a snapped spring, sounds like what happened to my mate in his astra :(
Back again but now with added hatch :)

It's pretty bouncy on that corner now.
Not fucking happy if it is a snapped spring. I'll be out there at 8am getting phone numbers come Monday morning!

I'm going to jack it up tomorrow and take a look.

i hope you can find it
its the step for the spring purch to sit on, and its part of the shock body, so the impact would of flattened it off. new shock needed man :(

im going to get some pictures of our road tomorrow for the claim, its a mess!!

Bad luck!

You can claim from the council if the road has a defect that exceeds 4cm in depth or height (I forget the dia. requirements). Measure the offending bit of road and take pics of you doing it...lots of them!

It's not the road, it was a rock on the road.

I don't think its bad design, I've seen worse.

Here are the pics:

The road and area... I must of smashed the rock/rubble as there were no large pieces about.

Touching the brake hose/mount..

Dropped spring...

Slight damage to purch and brake hose..

Purch has dropped below the ARB, stuck!

And the damage to the shock. Turns out its not part of the shock body as I thought. I have tried with all my might to push it back up, but it's not happening - the purch is jammed on very tight...

Hammer it, if that doesnt help youl have to get an engineer to use a press and push it into place.

Gotta say tho, the new ride height looks better than before lol.
