How To - Remove VT/siR sideskirts

Post by Marc_EE9 »

This is easy to do, and you do not need to jack the car up or take any wheels off.

1. First undo the screws at the back end holding it to a plastic bracket.
2. Then work your way to the front taking out all the screws. There are usually metal ones at each end.
3. Once you have taken out all the plastic screws and the plastic part they screw into, it should then swing loose.
4. Now to get it off the clips; you need to slide the skirt towards the front of the car, and it should pop off no problem.
5. To get the clips out the sill, turn them 90 degrees and they should pull out very easily
6. Attach the white clips to the skirt before you re-fit.

HI lads, I just bought vt side skirts and i want to fit them to my JDM ef1. Now i bought front and rear lips in the past (vt lips) and there has been holes there for them to just bolt into. I was just wondering how would i go about fitting the side skirts? Is there any write up on how to do this i would appreciate if you could point me in the right direction. Cheers

its not a lot of holes.
they need to be removable. if you tigerseal them, it will damage the paint etc if you have to get them off, and could trap dirt/water

Personally I would do it as intended, using the original clips. If you drilled small holes it would be hard to rust proof inside where you drill as it will expose bare metal.

Not following you to be honest man. Do it as intended? I have a few of the origianal clips but missing a few. Im just wondering should there holes under my sills to accommodate the skirts? like i said there was already holes in front and rear bumper for the vt lips to just bolt on.

Do as intended... ie; fix them as they should be, as Honda did on VT's.

I only have 4 clips on each side, as the bodyshop lost the others :(
then yes, you have a bunch of holes for plastic screw clips to go in underneath
