Right, i'm seriously thinking of buying a 1.4gl and a smashed up or rusted crx vt (or maybe a del sol or eg vti) and do the conversion. If i have the 2 cars will i need anything else. i.e engine mounts? I is everything interchangable?

I'm sure it's already on here somewhere but unfortunatly i am a retard.

Cheers in advance

Its a PITA.

Il be doing this conversion in a few weeks.

You need to swap over - Engine, loom, driveshafts, hubs, TRE's, braking system, tank, fuel lines and some other stuff i cant remember.

You'l need D-B conversion mounts aswell as the mounts on the GL are in a different place.

You'd find a Crx/Civic VT more usefull as a donor car, the EG based cars use a hydralic gearbox, different loom, tank, hubs etc.

Imo, unless your wanting to take alot of time and alot of money building a perfect car your wasting your time. Dont think of it as a quick, cheap and easy conversion.

What's a TRE?

When you say swap the braking system obviously the front hubs change but is it compulsary to change the rears and master cylinder etc..

So other then the engine mounts is there anything else i need to spend cash on? (based on me finding a crx vt)

I'm not expecting it to be a quick swap but an enjoyable one :?

Perth on this forum has some for sale. If your serious about doing this then id suggest you bite his arm off for them. They are very hard to come by in the UK - your saving quite abit of money and time from buying it from his rather than the USA.

Keep an eye out on ebay and autotrader, Nice GL's pop up on them sites quite frequently.

would i be right in thinking that it is only the left mount that is in a different place?
