Fast Road & Track 1.6i-16 ***Update 18/07/09***

Post by Ben_theEFking »

As some of you may know, I have bought Kai`s 1.6i-16. I picked it up yesterday and im really happy with it :D

Ive always wanted to do some track days but as with my previous 4g`s, I was always reluctant to take them on track as I needed the car to get to and from work, and obviously if anything happened on track, I would have no car. Now I have a company van, it doesn`t matter if its off the road, so I saw Kai`s car up for sale and thought it would be a great starting point!

Its a very clean example with just the nsr arch needing attention, but I took it to the bodyshop this morning and its booked in for just after christmas for a new arch and sill repair, and a few other minor bits to be sorted so it will look mint in the new year. 8)

Kai has really looked after this car, and it shows by the way it looks and drives, it feels much faster than by previous 1.6i-16`s that I have owned, and its down to the small wheels and tyres! Kai told me it made a big difference to the gearing but I didnt realise how much!

My friend Mark took me to collect the car in his 98 spec jdm integra type r and we had a little play on the way back. I couldnt believe how closely matched they were, even he was shocked

Plans are as mentioned earlier to tidy up the nsr arch and a few other minor bits, a decent bucket seat, another set of wheels, im gonna go for 15" possibly some white compomotive mo6`s with some R888`s, bigger brakes, coilovers, polybush everything I possibly can, some uprated arb`s and im not sure what to do engine wise yet. Anyway here are some pics.

Yeh I can imagine, smaller wheels=better accelaration.

The exhaust was a one-off made by Long-life at Top Gear in Basingstoke.

I wanted straight through (no centre boxes) and just the rear box to keep it below 96dB noise limits.

It made a huge difference (together with the manifold) to the way it went.

EFKING - Really glad you are happy and hope you enjoy it!!

Keep in touch, mate.

Kai

I can get them for a decent price, my friend owns Toxic Rides in Hertford and is a Compomotive dealer. 8)
