When I pull engines with a crane I have a single strap from the bracket at back of head going to the gearbox. With it hooked over the erm hook on the crane you can just lift the engine up to alter the position it's sitting at. JDM y0! tilt. So it just slides straight out at an incline.
It is easier without the alt but since they are such a PITA to move around in the chassis with AC will often either just slip it closer to the block or just not bother at all.
EG's upwards are so much easier to remove from.
