Looking good T, should have took the alternator of the block when pulling it out, would have stopped it rubbing, they normally get stuck on the AC/power steering pipes on Sir's.

Am i missing something, why could i not breath before? :?

Because your O2 saturation was low

Only messing, the alternator is a bitch to take out and the bolts were done tight!

Couldn't beleive how quick you can take a head off a block. Next time we will try making Lucky get his hands dirty!

Yeh it was rather quick with the B18, but then I thought my car was quick until a few days ago when I drove Shams built B18 EF8 and absolutely S*!t myself!!

I have high hopes from this B20. :drivegear:

Well on the B16B I done last night it was simple.

Rocker cover off, cam caps off, head bolts off, head off.

You have to take the cams out to get to the head bolts.

I also rather stupidly cut a GREDDY timing belt, but then you cant use timing belts again can you?

Ah right i see. Its a D16A9 im talking about. Hopefully its a similar task. Technical documents on CRXUK seem vague too.

Timing belt as in alternator belt? I dont see why not, as long as its in decent condition etc. They do advise if your changing alternator or anything on that run then to replace the belt, i know for the D16 their not expensive.

That makes sense lol. If you doint know the history of the belt ie how long its been on the car then yea swap it out.

As long as its still within its quoted lifespan and in good nick then i would reuse it etc

Apparently it has been on the engine for less than 3000 miles

Me being a bit colour blind couldn't even tell it was blue ffs, it looked black to me, oh well.

Ive just gone and tken the valves, springs and retainers out of the B16B now. Pice of cake, had them all out in under 30 mins, lost one collett (keeper) though

Used a guide on Youtube, 17mm deep socket and hammer, job done.

Stem seals look in very good nick, a few sticky/clicky LMA's, minor.

Pics later.
