Few pics from the engine build so far. No assembly work as yet, it's been stripped down, parts inspected, cleaned and some painted. Almost ready to go.

ITR Cylinder head came in the post, had been packed using polystyrene, as a result the head was completely coated in it. Had a little tantrum then cleaned it out.

This is it all together, after a few weeks of collecting parts.

Block washed off, few more bits to strip and ready to paint.

Ready for cleaning and assembly.

Cheers for the comments, I can't wait till it's done.

Have about 30 packages (slight exaggeration) waiting to be delivered, a few of which are acl bearings, arp studs etc. Things slowing the build.

What numbers are you looking at? 200ish? My mate has a B16 with ITR internals, he's got 205HP in EK sedan, but his map is flawed and his engine is not putting out what it should..

How did you prep and what did you use to paint the block? I'm gonna do it myself so i wanna get first hand information :-)

Yeah I'm expecting around 200 mate. I don't run itr internals however, and the bore is only minmal, at a guess around 1649cc, but ill have to confirm. Engine degreaser, a jet wash and an air line to blow it dry. Left in front of a heater to make sure and then some high temp paint, just in a rattle can.

I see, did you scrub it with a wire wheel or just the cleaning + degreasing? 200 sounds nice in a DA6 :)

The jetwash was a 'home made' creation of a man who's in the process of fitting a twin stage jet engine to a mk2 cortina estate.. he's like doc brown from back to the future, only with motors, not time travel. The jetwash in question can and does cut wooden pallets in two, it didn't need much more than some tfr and a hose off mate lol.
