That's interesting I think ours is similar only us laws require an impact bar which mounts to the car and bumper then mounts to that. I wouldn't doubt our plate mounts to the impact bar but I've never really paid attention.
Yeh you guys get the better reccess. I'd get rid of the number plate bracket if i could, it rusts really bad and it looks untidy but i need to find a jdm rear bumper so that i can get rid of it

So i havn't had much chance to work on this as i seem to be working on my mates cars in most of my spare time but i've been putting in an hour here and there and finally got the paint finished apart from the engine bay and i have a new bonnet and slam panel to go on so that i can get rid of the hatch front end.
I got a few hours today so i took the petrol tank and exhaust off an then made a start on removing the engine again
