I bought all (well nearly all, some bits missing I need to source) the parts to beuild my shifter. My spare one is really loose too. They wear out. You need to make them good and tight again, also he cables can be adjusted. Rightly or wrongly.

Regards changing the sump gasket.
Good luck.
I wont spoil the surprise, just don't take anything off you can't get back on again when you have had enough of it
im not changing it lol, going to let Daz handle that
as i know they are a pita, and i could possible need a new sump, as mind has lots of rust blisters

re: shifter cables... are you on about my "gear wont select" issue?

ive been working on a few bits yesterday, and notice there does seem to be a leak on the g/box. but not enough to have any on the floor

yesterday i took off the old fogs and wiring, and wired in the actual shuttle fog wiring i managed to get off the Beagle. refitted the bumper and front looks all good apart from two holes in the bumper. im going to flush the holes over, and re-cut them. and then just need some fogs to fill them
;)

fitted an EK9 throttle cable, had to make up a bracket, which took me a couple of attempts.

i want to do some painting, but its too cold and wet for that

Yeah. I'd do it whilst it's off for sure!!
I think they must have changed the steel in the sump slightly with older ones or maybe i's just age but my stock one is battered to hell and rusty.
re: shifter cables... are you on about my "gear wont select" issue?
Aye. Take the cover off the shifter anyway and look at it as you move it. There will possibly be a lot of black stuff around it as well which has worn off.
The plastic bushes probably quite worn too.

Came out pretty good!

One had two harsh scores, so had to fill those with some liquid metal. ;)
