quite a few random jobs on here. interested to know why people have the jobs they do
something which I enjoy(so far). As it is pratical
AND
will pay bills.
I was lucky to get the job at my age, 21 as its meant to be for 16-18 year olds!!!
Lots of people are mis-informed about nuclear which annoys me, but if you care to listen you can have a good job!!!
Up here where a 1 bedroom flat costs circa £75,000, and after my apprenticeship I'll be on £27,000(imagine that as a 20 year old) you should be OK!!! More 35K after overtime TBH!!!
You have the scope to earn A LOT more though - I know a guy who is 27 now and paid £250,000 cash for his house and has a 350Z
Dan you at Torness ?
One of the better stations out there, but still accidents happen.
I start on Monday as an Instrumentation Engineer for Honeywell, pays carp ( from what I'm used to getting ) but home every night
As a skilled person, oil jobs pay £70k + around the world, but you do need qualifications and experience. True that money doesnt buy happiness, but it can buy you a very nice house and wife.
And 30k is 6k LESS than the cleaners employed by Rolls Royce get
Life is about being happy, and what's more fullfilling than makeing something work, and work right ? No pleaseing some of the people some of the time, engineering either works or doesn't. Simple - if it works you are right, if it doesnt you are wrong. Got to love that side of it

Should be easy from what I am used to, but I gave up a chance of international service eng. for Inducotherm - the wife wants me homeDan wrote:
If its the Honeywell I think you are at you are on to a good thing!
Wouldv'e been twice the pay and some nice places, Thailand, Turkey, USA, China and more Now I get an Astra van instead of a 6k car allowance Must be mad, but after takeing the kids to the park after school today it could well be worth it
PS. Did a young lad from Greenlaw get a start with you? I know his Dad, Whitey,( Grass track winner year after year in MK1 Golf GTi's ) but didnt get back to get the application form couple of years back as asked
yep, all about being happy, and doing what you wanna do/what ur good atstreaker wrote:Dan you at Torness ?
