I hate the lifted bonnet trend... really annoys me!
Won't find many places locally selling them anymore ;) and scrappies don't have any. I'd rather buy a carbon bonnet than an OEM one.

I could cut the bulge out but if i'm honest i don't like them, one of set boring scoop? Prefer the vtec bonnets, they're a mild version of what i want. just add an extra half-inch on the height of the middle bit of the bonnet.... I don't think it will look to terrible but should suit what i'm doing to my car...

I'll upload a picture of my bumpers progress tomorrow, that might make things clearer......

For now, here's my old bumper Mk1 ;) haha

Of course. :) Just though might get some joint opinions xD hahaha!
It's hard to explain what i want to acheive a. without pictures and b. not having it done and paint on my car. Always transforms everything.

I'll give it a go and get it painted and if it looks crap... not going to be the end of the world is it :P

How much clearance do you need for the engine to not hit the bonnet ??

Why not just lower the engine and gearbox?

Thanks momosega. And yes it is an original chargespeed. Arrived from Japan last month [=

Well i need a vtec bonnet bassically so not much clearance at all (i'd just rather emphasise the middle section more, and i do not want to buy a vtec one Haha.)

So if i'm going to make mine the shape of a vtec one i thought why not add an extra half inch or so to make it abit more prominant. (like the CRX bonnet in the picture) That make sense?

I can't lower the engine etc, i already scrape on speed bumps, on the plastic shroud under the radiator and 2 parts of the exhaust.

I really want to fit a B18/B20/H22 but they all have longer blocks and i'm worried about doing oil pans or alot worse. So if i lower the engine to clear the hood, i won't be able to drive down any road with a speed bump.

One advantage of making the bonnet have a taller bulge is that i can space the block upwards and then even get a larger block in the first place. :?: :!:

I mainly want to do the bonnet like this for the looks. But before i put it on i need to cut it where i want it to be because of the clearance issues.

Sorry i rambled abit there and probs didn't make too much sense...

Here's my bumper so far. Standard ED/EC etc bumper. Cut, added plastic lip, body filler, fibreglass etc etc... The hole shall be filled with subtle mesh.

Obviously it's nowhere near finished yet >< But this bumper with the bonnet should look ok? :top: :not top: :?:
