Day 115-123

Finally finished painting the springs. Doing it by hand takes a lot longer, but is a lot cheaper!

Image

Roof bars are all done, and are ready to be fitted. I just need to wait for the sealent to dry that I sealed the rubbers onto the feet with, thats why they look a bit messy around the edges (for the moment). ;)

I had to paint the feet for anyone who hasn't read all this thread, as they were very corroded, and I didn't want to pay for them to be powder coated and corrode again, so I painted them with Hammerite, by hand. They haven't come out too bad, but spraying would of given a nicer finish, but I'm not too fussed. As like the springs painting by hand it's a lot cheaper!
I need to unclip the roof lining so when I drill the holes it doesnt go through it, as that would not be cool!

Here's how they will sit. Leaving the gutter free for water to run away..

Picked up some new/cheaper 14x6 alloys today off Daz...
I love them! They look like a cross between Gabs and ITR wheels... anyone know what they are?

They have a polished lip, and silver centres. I'm going to polish up the rims, and do the centres white I think! :D

i was planning on lowered 20mm (on GL springs), but if i can find some cheapish coilovers then it will be a bit lower ;) . the suspension parts dont look too healthy, every bolt is seized :(
so who knows

Day 133

Received a package from the States today. No import duty to pay either!

For anyone who doesn't know, its a wind fairing for the roof rack. Helps keep drag down to a minimum, which helps with mpg and noise levels etc..

Got a load of stickers ready to wack on! :D
