I sent you some  Good to see some work being done, I wish I had a garge, I was removing suspension in Hail (and some snow for about 15mins) the other day, can't say it was much fun.

I used the cold to chip away at the sound deadening, i only did this much...
Must not be cold enouth then, you idealy want it to be below freezing.

Are you going to remove it all? Going to make it quite noisy if you do.

You wont notice much difference noise wise after taking the sound deadening out anyway from previous experiences!

Not much done today tbh! i arrived quite late, then i blew the fuse for the compressor again! (Doesnt like to run cold, i have to put a heater on it for 30 mins before it will run without the fuse blowing..)

So, 45 minute into town to buy 20 13amp fuses and a pair of cheap jeans so i could get under the car.

Managed to get the passenger rear RTA off, Handbrake handle off with cables detached, gear linkage off, fuel filler pipe off and i managed to take the sound deadening in the rear quite easily! i taped it all over with a hammer, and i pulled the whole thing off in 2-3 peices! quite impressive!

Then it got very cold, so i packed up and left for home!

Pics...

Sound deadening removal

Image

RTA Off (just hanging by the handbrake cable)

This was a bitch to get off! every bolt was fine (including the LCA Bolt), apart from 1 bolt which was the big RTA Bush, one bolt was a PIG! spent 40 minutes on that alone, Airgun wasnt buding it, a 3ft breaker bar was budgeing it, so i ended up getting a small blowtorch and heated it up for 10 minutes, then got the breaker bar with a pole on the end and managed to get it turning, then just stuck the airgun on it, off it came!

Fuel filler gone

Rear lights gone, and Datum!

More work...

Fuel tank out!

Image

8 litres still in!

In the GL it goes...

Image

Fuel lines out now the tanks out!

Image

With the tank out, means i could access the handbrake cable bolts and take the RTA's off!

Image

Random JDMness found under the boot latch..

Image

and, interior emptied and hoovered!

Image

Image

And now shes a complete, bare shell! (bar the sunroof)

Now i can get on with getting it all welded up! :D

Ive been thinking out the V-Clamp system...

Now, i love a loud exhaust, but sometimes you need a quiet one (long motorway journeys etc).

I was thinking of having the rear section of the exhaust on a Quick-Release V-Clamp type fitting, So i could quickly Unclamp the quiet backbox (OEM Exit), and fit the Now strait through section (Drivers Exit) for Loudness

Thoughts?
Apexi ECV?? (Exhaust Control Valve)

Very Handy!
