Picked these up this morning.. Amazed with the quality of work done. And it cost me just 5€!!! I was in shock
It's a service i'll definitely use again


Also got myself a sturdy table to replace the old wobbly one, so i can move the engine from the ground to the table and do stuff with leisure instead of pain..

Here's a better picture of the refurbished brackets. Sandblasted and then cataphoresis painted

Out with the old..

In with the new.. Much, much better workbench than the old wobbly one

Dry fit of the manifolds with the new studs.

Exhaust side they poke out a little more than the OEM ones, but i like it that way.. Also new nuts with ribbed backside to prevent loosening.

Intake manifold side, they are the perfect size, could not look better


I've dissassembled my intake manifold and prepped it for cleaning (runners are coated with gunk) and then rebuild it with fresh seals, brackets and bolts

So i had a bit of time this weekend to assemble some of the engine parts back together. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves..

Put on the exhaust cam and torqued it down..


Then i put on the intake cam aswell, put in locking pins for the cams and removed cam pulleys and replaced the cleaned timing belt cover.


Fresh new water pump with a tad of liquid gasket to keep the o-ring in place.


Then followed the new belt tensioner and fresh tensioner spring.


Placed in new cam seals and put back on cam pulleys. After a few issues i placed on a new timing belt.


After adjusting belt tension i started cleaning up the lower timing belt cover.


All back up and looking so fresh.


Degreased the flywheel and put in new pilot bearing.


Flywheel torqued down (you can see the ghetto method i use to lock it down)


Fresh Exedy OEM clutch in place and torqued down.


That's all i managed to get done, hopefully i'll have some more time soon to finish the engine assembly. So close i can almost hear it purr..
Next on the list of things to do is to remove water deposits on intake manifold inlets and get it degreased and soda blasted, get the injectors sonic cleaned and paint up the remaining pieces..

Just picked up soda blasted parts.. These are the final parts i need to have painted to complete the engine.
Intake manifold blasted inside and out, looking very lovely already Just needs a lick of paint and it will be mounted on the engine.


Here's another picture where you can see the intake manifold and rover valve cover that will be painted over the next few days. Got a great idea, hopefully it will come out as i imagined!


I've also had thermostat housing and water outlet (the one mounted on cylinder head) blasted, so those bits need paint aswell.

Fiddled around during the weekend..

First i put in a fresh release bearing, galvanised release bearing fork and brand new spring..


Then i started assembling back the other painted bits onto my gearbox..


Finished off with engine mount brackets


I've applied epoxy primer to the soda blasted bits..






And then some basecoat and 2K clearcoat on it

Anyways.. I've again used cataphoresis paint service.. This time i was even more shocked.. Free of charge for 2 calipers


Fresh studs secured with Loctite..


Water pipe back up with fresh o-rings.. I forgot to mention i coat bolts with copper grease before reassembly to prevent seizing.


Manifold back on with fresh gasket and torqued down to spec..




IAT, Fast idle solenoid, alternator brackets and some other bits and bobs back up..


Before fitting it back up i've degreased my breather chamber and gave it a new o-ring.


Looking almost like a proper engine now Over the weekend i need to clean injectors, throttle body, FIT valve and some other things to re-fit them back up..

Just a quick update.. Engine almost fully assembled.. Can rarely find the time to work on it as i've got two finals coming up at UNI..

Managed to source out a top timing belt cover for the engine as i seem to have misplaced mine..


Just need to fit vacuum hose that goes from PC valve to breather chamber.. Ordered from Honda, still waiting for it to arrive..


Still missing two water outlets on the head, once i source that out it's go time for the wiring and swap..


I am a bit angry that i can't find the time to clean the TB aswell as it kindof ruins the whole fresh look of the engine, but it will have to do for now..
I have however cleaned the inside of it so it's spotless.


Expected to have the engine inside by the 1st of July

Wensday night i was doing final prep to have the engine put inside my car again.. Stayed in the garage till 1AM


So after a lot of time, i can finally say my car is not just a shell anymore Big thanks to hakosuka for his help, couldn't have done it without him!
It was a lot of try and error, but after a bit of struggling we got it to this point - almost in place on drivers side


Short while after, we got it in..


Don't mind the red fenders, thats just for some testing i did last night


What's next on the list now is wire tuck and then i can start the engine after two long years !!
