how can you enforce it??? How can you possibly have a database and a network of freshly trained VOSA testers to support it? How on earth will the government fight the endless lawsuits against vosa for disgruntled enthusiasts who now have to remove all the parts they have paid £££££ for from their cars.. what about cars that have mods that are irreversible?

ALL that will happen. IF it will happen. Will be introduced via the MOT! They have been doing it for YEARS! Such as Enforcement of After market HID's. Even YEARS back, when excessively noisy exhausts etc. And last years ECU Modification.

If something ever does happen that means you can't change anything on your car I think I'll cry, and then find another country to live in that isn't so S*!t.


Also would mean I'd loose the civic as theres no way I could put that back to standard, too much has been changed.


It could happen as theres so much bull crap laws these days in our nanny state but considering how big the tuning/parts industry is in the uk it will put a lot of people out of a job/business. It already like this in France iirc.

Also don't just assume this won't happen, we should take action now to make sure it doesn't happen, partitions, mass protests, whatever is needed. I've heard there are thousands of modded cars going to London in protest.

Why do you say that, theres been loads of examples of stupid Euro rules and regs made up by some Euro tossers being brought to the UK and many other countries, having said that the Uk seems to opt out of more of them that most other countries.

Well the 'modifying' scene is worth a good chunk of change in VAT, nothing will change.

Any changes will be to new vehicles, doubtful if it happens before next election unless a group of idiots in modified cars have a major pile up causing a fatality.

Having read this and being an ex MOT tester ( of 21 years ) what it means is that they will have the legislation to ensure vehicles meet the original specification for safety and air quality. This will mean cats must be in place, if fitted originally, and original seat belts, it does give them scope under the framework, to introduce further legislation with regard to originallity of parts listed in the manufacturers original specification. It is always worrying when the EU gets involved in anything because usually the proposals come from someone who has no idea what they are on about but simply wish to get their name on something and appear important
