8) what a pic
It's my favourite as well -now my windows background :)
Jochen @ frozenspeed takes fantastic motorsport pics - most of the ring photographers just take holiday snaps. He gets some sense of motion & speed in his.

I have the hi res versions so can also crop them down if I want.

He sets up every night in the pistenklause (The restaurant of the Tiergarten hotel - run by Sabine's mum. We always stay there as it's decent, you can store all your tools & spares in the room, and it's right by the track) with his laptop & big screen. if you email him before you go he wil llook out for your car & make sure he has some pics.

Well done Ed, yep, deffo time for a shorter box. If you go down the S80 route, I would swap a Y21 5th in. The S80 5th is a bit like an overdrive, too long for your track application. Actually, if I were you, I would just get an Mfactory 4.928 final drive for your Y1/Y2, will work out much better and you dont have to go through the pain of a hydro conversion!

Thanks Pete - Just when I thought I'd decided! :?

I would like an LSD though, and I think I have got my mate to sell me his S80 for £100 :D - it needs some work, not quite sure what's wrong with it, but it must be fixable.

The Y2 I got from Daz is very sweet - no crunches, even changing to 5th at 8500! We are planning to go to the US on holiday in the summer, so mfactory might be cheaper if I collect :)

I'm taking the SiR over in August and i'm really looking forward to it!!! I've been there 3 time's already, twice in my 00 JDM DC2R and last year in a 2006 CL7 I had!!

We are just after building a gearbox for the ef9, its a J1 gearbox and we fitted an ek9 LSD to it!!! Seem's to be doing the trick. I have coilovers and a set of 888's for the trip too!!!

Must say, the LSD did make a big difference on my car, so your probably right to go with the S80 unless you can get a slippy diff for your Y2.

I think the S80 route is much cheaper, that is if I can get the box for a good price - and would be even better with a 0.848 5th gear

this calculator is good
http://www.fatboyraceworks.com/gears/in ... &Compare=1

The Y2 has a longer FD than the Y1 - when you compare the Y1 with the S80 there's almost no difference in top gear. Even the Y2 is close. The 0.848 looks like it makes a big difference

3rd in an S80 must be manic! - and I guess you rarely need 2nd

The box was better than you described - no sign of any crunches, not even at 8500 into 5th! :D Fresh MTF may have helped.

Sounds like a great 'ring car - you might even keep up with me in a 270hp teg
TBH that should be great at any circuit, but if you can pull 150+ mph on the fast bits you will be in touch with the GT3RS's and M3 CSL's

I will be down some time to pick up one of those batteries - will have to wait until I'm coming past tho. Then we can talk about your S80 conversion kit as well.
