I should be able to knock it up myself using some piping, bends and rubber adaptors.

You have to drop the subframe to get the rack as far as i know as you cant get the movement to get the rack out when the subframe is still attached to the car.

When i changed my rack i just removed the lot and was still a PITA

Im dreading putting it back in

Also I rang a local motor factors who send them off to someone else to recondition, he quoted me £172

Anyone know someone who recondition PAS racks that dont charge £172?

On the plus side, I had the car dropped off at my uncles paint shop for the engine bay to be done, it is gonna take 2 daysso im expecting it back on Tuesday due to bank holiday Monday.

Im not gonna start filling holes and shaving brackets off etc, I just want it nice and clean.

Got some snaps to keep this thread going:

Haha yeah they are a pain get someone to help you putting it in i did on my once never again trying to line everything up is a nightmare.

If you have someone in the car to line the steering coloumn up then all you have to do is hold it up (axel stands) and bolt it in much easier 8)

£172 is ALOT  Never a better reason to get manual steering

Even without a front or engine it still looks mean 8)

I love the "snap-back" you get on manual steering. With Meister-R's I ruined a few cars yesterday on a little drive. :D
