Captain_Crustacean wrote:Mmmmmm, not sure I'd go down the quaife route, I've race a couple of cars who are running the ATB, I'm yet to here a positive comment about them. We run one in me dads westfield and its been dissapointing shall we say. I suppose it depends on what you intend to do, they might be good on the road I suppose. I've found the stock S80 LSD very good on the track though. :top:
Hmm, that's good to know, you are the 3rd person to say something similar to me. All that after ive sold my S80, it was mint too :(

Right, small update.

I got my head back from the machine shop (W.Drake).

It's a B16B head, came off the engine that was in my mates B16B EG.

First off, had the head dipped so it's decoked and nice n clean.

Had the valve seats recut, to 3 angled ones I think. Same goes for the valves, had them recut to suit the head.

Head has been milled 5 thou, so we have a nice fresh surface and not too much taken off so it keeps it nice and safe.

I will polish the combustion chambers and remove the casting marks in the inlet ports.

Then head will be ready to build back up with new stem seals and valve springs/retainers.

Now some pics:

Great work so far mate, and well done on getting a manifold, that seems to be a hurdle for me at the moment.

Nice new shoes too, good colour combo ;)
