im in the middle of building a EG track car for the first time, and im very serious about loosing weight, even if its the tinyest amount, and i would like to kno how everyone else has dun theirs, and giv me sum ideas,
ive gutted the whole car completly, even the dash board,
perspex windows are being installed
power steering removed
ac removed
door pannels cutted away
roll cage once painted
trimmd the wiring loom, like removing the abs wires and stuff
sound dedening tar removed
tailgate cutted away and welded shut or carbon fibre one
lightweight alloys
enquiring in a light weight bonnet
lightweight flywheel
lightweight manifold
lightweight control arms
lightweight exhaust system
lightweight seats
smaller fuel tank
smaller lightweight battery
aluminium radiator
is their anything else that i can do to reduce weight?
is their anything else that i can do to turn it into a proper track car,
wer can get info on how to build a track car?

theirs a lot more to it, most of that list is what ive already dun, and theirs more to it, ud be supprised lol, sheraz wrote:daaaam looks like u coved everything never new about all those light weight stuff like the exhaust
when im dun al write up everything ive dun
darren - my car doesnt hav a sunroof but i might be cutting roof off and replacing with either carbon fibre or alluminium, bit expensive but im looking into it
marc_vt - yeah all roof lining out EVERYTHING, and al prob be using fibreglass tailgate and perspex windows is already on my list,
thanks for the info guys, keep them coming,
With out compromising safety there isnt much more really to do,
Loosing the rear wiper assembly looses a few, removing the stock mirrors looses a bit.
You could loose some weight your self, may be take a shite before you go out
The removal of all that weight has probably lost you roughly 60ks. Which will help alot with P/W ratio.
The choise of suspension can also make a differece, alloy bodies shocks as apposed to steel, alloy control arms etc.
It really is a case of every little counts, My race with a full tank of fuel, roll cage and extinguisher is 860kg's. to give you a rough idea.
