Anyone got 18s or bigger on a civic?
Seen a nice set of JDM volks in 18x7.5 et 42.
And will it give better traction and better handling being wider then standard alloys?

18's and 19's both been done but dont bother if your after handling and performance stick to small wheels

TBH 17s on a lowered EG looks
For handling 15s, for looks and handling 16s!!!!!!!

They look nice, very similiar to r34 gtr wheels. think il get the 18s with some low profiles.
Should help tighten up steering and give great handling.

with 18's you probably wont be going fast enough to worry about needing good handling

wont be that much worse on 18's i had 17's on my old 16v, but i wouldn't put 18's on as it will rub, you'll lose steering lock and feel, 3 point turns will become 18 point turns. that said it shouldnt spin as much on 18's
But you'll never get the car looking low to the floor, tyres will be expensive for decent tyres. and the saxo boys will love it
It is your car however...

My mate has just put a set of 18" Nissan 350Z alloys on his 200SX, and man they look huge, they'd look like monster truck wheels on a Civic!

Never had anything bigger than 15" on my civic and i never will. For handling and looks they are top in my opinion on this shape car.

ive got 17's on my civic coupe and altho they look awesome (but it is a bigger car) they really do reduce performnace or atleast when it was na it did
i really regret going for 17's and id swap back if my brakes werent so bloody big i could fit 16's but i dont see the point in 16's myself the tyres cost loads and i think you should go 17's for looks or 15 for handling and 16's aint really a compromise imo
