I'd be embarrassed to even send that out, let alone charge £300 for it!! Take them down to a local engineering shop, let them laugh at it, then ask nicely if they'll do you an engineers report to class them unfit for use. Morf won't be able to refuse a refund then.

Do you not have his address ? Used to find in South London in the 60s that people power was quite persuasive ! Get your money back and then insert it for good measure.

Trading standards. They are there for this sort of thing. If he isn't legal they will throw the book at him. Offer him the chance to refund again, then phone them.
