Updates from 2nd march:
Like i said, today was the D day. First time seeing the color i picked actually on a car part and even in matte finish. Jeez i barely slept last night, i woke up even more tired than i had gone to bed..
Anways, i had gone shopping today to pick up the matte clear coat, flattening agent, some anti-silicone cleaner, a few mixing cups and hardener for the clear coat.. Ended up spending more than for just the paint alone lol
So when i arrived at the place of interest i saw this outside
All the sanding dust has been blown out with a leaf blower
The guys workshop has also been cleaned out and prepared to be vacuumed and made into a paint booth..
A bit later we started making a homemade paint booth
Ended up with this thing
After the place was all vacuumed up, the floor watered down to grab onto the dust so it wouldn't fly around later we started laying out the parts..
The fenders were placed against eachother and bolted down with two self-tapping screws each
The doors were placed on a large wooden plank and taped together at the top so they couldn't be moved by accident
After that we started taping up the parts so we don't get overspray everywhere..
Only the edges of the bonnet were taped around so the overspray doesn't flow to the top plane
Fenders safely taped over with the heaviest grade paper i've ever seen in my life
Next we started doing the masking of the shell itself
Left side done
So we moved to the other side..
Aaaaaand done.
This has to be the thickest clear coat i've ever seen.. In the pic the guy is adding a flattening agent to it. Funny story about that.. The store i bought it at recommends 20% of the flattening agent maximum. He said feck that and added 0,5kg to 2kg of clear

Turned out flatter than a dead guys heart rate
A bit later he changed into this white suit and started painting on the hinges
This was the last image before he painted all of the parts for the day.. Overspray is a bitch for the lens
Anyways, a pizza and a cup of coffe later we went down to the workshop to check on the paint
![Thumbs Up :top:](./images/smilies/icon_thumright.gif)
But it still wasn't flattened enough, so we gave it more time and caught some sun outside with a cold beer
Coming back later, a grin came upon my face
Now that's proper flat wohooo
This picture kinda is the best to the actual color on the car.. it's dark but not too much, i love it!
Here's a comparisson to the primer color..you can actually see how much darker it is
The pictures don't do the color any justice because it was under neon lights and pictures taken with flash. The paint itself is RAL 7012 - used in most toy model tanks, kinda military gray.. I was scared to go with this one, but i was relieved once it was actually on a part and flattened down. So much win
If everything goes as planned i'll get some white pearls to go in the clearcoat tommorow. A bit "bling" to the car on the sun, but invisible when it's not sunny or under neon lights
What do you guys think?
