Thanks for the comments guys
EF-Russ YEs get on with your tuck ! It makes you slowly loose the will to live but when its all done and working a nice cold beer and jobs a good-un
perfectionist wrote:You gonna paint the car? What colour?
I have done a little quick bodge bodywork for the time being until i have some more cash but yeah the car will get painted, As for colour undecided as of yet i have a couple of ideas
Czezcho wrote:I definetly love the paint, awesome indeed. what are those "sparkels" ? metal paint or flake or?
Its a Mica colour meaning it changies colour in sun light like pirates black or barca green. Not a pearl though.
And As Gizmo insists MORE....
So sadly even the good ones hide some rot
Driver side wasnt too bad at all just a little pitting really
Pas side however did need some work so mega speedy bodge to be done in time for JAE
I chopped out the rot and welded in a couple patches to make the inner arch back up and used a replacement rear arch panel ive had lying around for 3 years or so to do the lower section of the wheel arch, then all acid etch primed primed again and then painted. Also a massively thick coat of underseal

Job done for now, ill rip all that out and redo when i get the car resprayed. Just could be a little neater.
Good old john doing some body work and spraying
Little bubble in the middle of the drivers sill taken care of
front wings also got some attention as they were bubbling a little around the arch. Seems to be an early spec thing that not sure why
So i came into a small problem basically me just not thinking ahead, a D14 powersteering pump bracket won't bolt up to a Z6....Ahhhh cock *facepalm moment* So i though maybe lop the whole lot, but that seemed... abit hard to do in meaning the rack is full of fluid but no way to check etc. So it was obvisous the only thing to do was to remove the full rack rack and replace it for a VT manual rack i had lying around in the garage

So bolted the new rack on and changed the rack ends and TRE's and boots better safe than sorry. Only pic i have of this was on my own and in a mega rush at this point
random pic of driveshaft in i assume not sure why i took but meh its here now
Coilovers on undersealing galore
Cusco lower brace fitted
5Zigen manifold clearance
Little snap of the brake set-up that wasnt to be before JAE, bit random Brembo discs from a MK2 golf gti used them just for a test but aint that far off really
![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Also anyone need some Mk2 GTI dics ? As we have no use for them from an old Mk2 VR6 project that wasnt to be.
The Gl's together
And wierdly thats all the pics i have i dont seem to have taken any of th car done
![Embarassed ](./images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)
So erm Giz JAE pics insert please
Also just two things i learnt from the swap, that we seem to be asked alot on here.
All engine mounts need changing apart from cambelt side. wierdly the rear mount is for auto is similar to a VT mount in where it bolts to the subframe.
Drive shafts are seemingly the same for auto and manual, ive got auto shafts in atm and have done 400 miles no problems.
Thats all folks ill get some pics of the car done and engine when i have a minute
