So this is the manifold il be using. Custom made Hytech for built B20VTEC with anti-reversion chambers.
Now im thinking about having it welded it shut so it is just one piece, would cut out any chance of it leaking.
Also rather than heat wrapping it, I am considering having it ceramic coated.
What you think?

That's a show peice for certain mate, i wouldn't be heat wrapping it. Looks fasntastic build quality. How does it fasten together? jointing paste and some sort of fastener would be my port of call mate, rather than welding it together.

I've been looking into ceramic coating also, I think it would be just as effective.
What's the purpose of the chambers on the manifold?

Sick manifold, very very jealous
Have it ceramic coated, inside and out. Zircotec are very good. Spoke to a few companies about ceramic coating when looking at coating the inside of a turbo for a diesel prototype gt car.
Heat wrap does not stop the heat going back into the cylinder head. The ceramic helps with exhaust leaving the head. Generally much more efficient than heat wrap

Re: EF9 - page 93 Hytech manifold update
I'd definitly consider getting it coated. You shouldn't need to weld it together, mine is the same design and never leaks, however if you're anything like me you'll never have it apart so welding it shut wouldn't be a bad thing.
Marc, the anti-reversion chambers are meant to stop exhaust gas pulses (pressure waves) flowing back up the header towards the head.

Looking forward to seeing this done

Awesome mani
Re: EF9 - page 93 Hytech manifold update
Cheers, the manifold is indeed a work of art, it currently is a slip joint fitment with fasteners on the manifold, but i'm going to have it welded shut so it is a permanent one piece.
I'm going to have it ceramic coated, makes sense when decent heat wrap is just short of £100 and ceramic coating is just a bit more.
I have found a few places, Camcoat and Zircotec are two of them.
I will call Zircotec this week for pricing.

Not really, it is about half the weight of a stock manifold.

Tahir when you call zircotec try saying that you spoke to them at autosport as the lady i spoke to about coatings said there may be discounts for speaking to them there.
