EFK9 B16B - The Speedboat
Re: NH-512Z EE9... The Speedboat.
Gave it a little wash and polish before it goes.
Took the front strut brace and plug cover off too incase they get damaged. I'll be swapping cam covers when Dom or Daz get here as well.

Look forward to it Marc
Don't suppose that means you'll be selling your rocker cover does it?

I am selling an unpainted one, with the front bits smoothed off the same.

Re: NH-512Z EE9... The Speedboat.
Car is looking great Marc.
I easily guessed it was a B16B because I saw Daz's add selling one.
Good point about the mapping if you aren't going to be using it much then it will be fine. As long as its not running a stock (as in stock B16B ecu) map it will be fine, B16B's need intake and exhaust and remap to get the best from them.
You should love the B16B, I loved mine loads which is why I kept it for so long, just wait to you rev her out to 9000 in 1st to 4th gear the first time, you'll grin like a looney. Also imo they are the best sounding B series. I still want another B16B powered car sometime in the future. Its easy to get carried away with one though so watch your license.

Re: NH-512Z EE9... The Speedboat.
Just to add, I think you could benifit from an aftermarket intake setup before its mapped, I'd reccommend something like I had or a AEM Hybrid. Notcied a big gain in vtec after switching to cold air intake.
Re: NH-512Z EE9... The Speedboat.
No time I'm afraid, the car is getting picked up tomorrow. I did look into it and been keeping my eye out, but they all seem to be in the USA, and can't justify the cost of buying one new. I quite like my setup, seems to work well but might be a bit skinny for the B16B.

Works fine for a B16A, but the B16B will need to breathe a lot more.
I still have the metal pipe from my old setup if you want it, all you'd have to buy in a 45 degree silicion pipe and you've got a decent cold air intake for little money.

You have the pipe from the t/b to airbox? Could be worth a shout, but your not home are you?EE9 CVC wrote:Works fine for a B16A, but the B16B will need to breathe a lot more.

Re: NH-512Z EE9... The Speedboat.
I got home this evening.
Have a look on this page: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=7979&start=555" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I have the silver pipe with BMC on it and the short metal joiner, you just need the silicon tubing in the photo assuming you already have a suitable filter, if not I have one too but its a bit old. If you want it I'll send it for you for £5 plus postage.

So so clean! One of the best examples IMO
Re: NH-512Z EE9... The Speedboat.
Marc, I would ask Daz to tuck the loom that sit's at the strut tops behind the engine and bring the injector wiring from under the IM.
Done it on mine, worked a treat. It would look better done on yours as you dont have the PAS setup.
No cutting involved, just re-routing.

I'll mention it when I next speak to him, as he took the car about an hour ago.
